Xiaomi Mi Band 5 may receive full NFC support around theworld

The Chinese manufacturing giant Xiaomi is a successful supplier of wearable devices. The company released the Mi Band series of fitness bracelets, which has become incredibly popular not only in China but around the world.

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 sales exceeded 1 million units in eight days. Now Xiaomi users are waiting for the fifth-generation of the device.

According to a source from Gizmochina, the next generation of Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelet may receive a global version with built-in NFC for contactless payments. Now, this feature is available only to Chinese users.

This is a rather reasonable step for Xiaomi, as a huge number of potential and existing users of Xiaomi Mi Band bracelets are located outside of China.

It is still unknown whether the global version of Mi Band 5 will work with Google Pay or some other services.

The announcement of Mi Band 5 is expected in the second quarter of 2020, and ss usual, Xiaomi will collaborate with Huami on its production.

The cost of the version for the global market is expected to reach $35.
