Xiaomi will hold a press conference on November 5, where it will present its new device – Xiaomi Watch. The company recently announced that this watch will be equipped with Qualcomm’s flagship smartwatch processor – the Snapdragon Wear 3100. Qualcomm now gave some details about what this chip has to offer.
New architecture, lightweight and powerful
The Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform uses the quad-core Cortex A7 architecture which can offer a smoother working experience. This chip has a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz, and powerful performance provides a smoother interactive response to smartwatches. Switching between different functions or launching a third-party application can work without any failures.
Besides, the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform introduces the new DSP platform to support next-generation sensor processing. Following this definition of Qualcomm, we expect the Xiaomi Watch to seamlessly run internal and third-party applications.
Collaborative processing & efficient power saving
One of the key features of the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform is the addition of the new coprocessor Qualcomm® QCC1110. These chips with high-efficiency DSPs and ultra-low-power performance work together to deliver longer-lasting endurance. Also, the Qualcomm QCC1110 is optimized for ultra-low-power operation.
Three modes – three scenarios
The Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform supports Advanced Mode (is designed for various themes and functions for a stylish look of smartwatches), Professional Sports Experience (can continuously activate sensors such as GPS and a heart rate sensor to track workouts and sports), and Traditional Watch Mode (consumes little or no energy). These modes determine the performance and power consumption status of the watch. It also supports a new personalized mode to meet the needs of users.
